How To: Request an Extension

If you have an Experience Voucher:

Experiences vouchers must be booked and taken within 12 months of purchase. Once a voucher has expired, RedBalloon is under no obligation to offer an extension; however we routinely assess such requests on a case-by-case basis.

If you wish to request an extension to the value of your experience voucher, please submit your request via email our CONTACT US page. Extension requests are reviewed closely by our Customer Experience Team and you should expect to receive a response from one of our team members within 5 working days.

Please note that experience vouchers over 6 months past the expiry date, or, previously extended or purchased with extended credit will not be entitled to any further extensions.


If you have a Gift Voucher, Gift Certificate or Gift Card:

Gift Certificates/Cards must be used within 12 months of purchase.

Extensions on Gift Certificates/Cards can be requested within 30 days of the expiry.

Beyond this 30 day "grace period" no request for further extension will be approved.

If you have RedBalloon Account Credit:

RedBalloon credit carries the same expiry date as the original Experience Voucher, Gift Certificate, or Gift Card. 

Expired RedBalloon Account credits are non-refundable in whole or in part. After credits have expired, they are no longer valid.
